The Heritage Education Commission is an independent, non-profit commission developed for the purpose of creating, initiating and conducting programs and projects which aid in the preservation or restoration of the cultural heritage of the Upper Midwest region. We produce the Annual Family History Workshop and maintain and create the Oral History & Veteran’s Oral History Projects as well as the Family History Research Awards.
The 48th Annual Family History Workshop will feature
Dana Kelly, Executive Director of the Norwegian American
Genealogical Center and Naeseth Library!
Dana Kelly serves as the Executive Director of the Norwegian American Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library. She oversees the daily operation of the center and is active in outreach activities and educational programming. Dana’s passion for family history led her to a Scandinavian Studies degree from UW-Madison, where she learned to speak, read, and write Norwegian. She is a member of several Norwegian cultural and genealogical organizations, including Sons of Norway, Vesterheim, Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, Dane County Area Genealogical Society, and Norwegian American Historical Association.
